Around 6km from the Madikeri Kushlanagar Road is the Harangi Dam. The Harangi river forms a huge reservoir that looks beautiful. It is a nice place for a picnic, picnic lunch.

About harangi dam:

Harangi dam is built against a small stream in the forest. The dam is built across the tributary of river Kaveri and is close to Kushalnagar. Precisely, it is located at Located at Hudgur village in Somwarpet taluk of Coorg.

This dam with a height of 47 mts. and 846 mts. length, is an important picnic spot. One can acess its beauty when the reservoir is fully filled with water during August to September. Guest house facility are also available on reservation from the public works department

How to Reach Harangi dam:

Private buses operates between Kushalnagar and Somwarpet via Harangi.

Note: Kushalnagar is the nearest town to Dubare forest and Harangi Dam. You can take ksrtc bus to Kushalnagar and then hire an auto-rickshaw to reach Dubare or Harangi. If you are driving, you need to continue on the road to Madikeri and take a left turn to Dubare after driving for 10 minutes, and right turn to Harangi Dam after similar distance. Ask for directions when you are in Kushalnagar.
