Sahasra Linga -Thousand Shiva Lingas (also called Sasralinga):

This place is one of the wonder, nobody is sure how the lingas were created in such large number. There are hundreds of the stones with Shiva Linga carved on them by the side or river 'Shalmala'. Because these uncountable carvings, the place gets the name "Sahasra Linga" (thousand lingas). When the water level is not high enough you can actually see all those carvings. Best time would winter and early summer. Best place for one day outing.

During Shivaratri:

Every year on the day of 'Shivaratri' hundreds of people visit this place to worship Lord Shiva. Local people as well as hundreds of people from outside visit this place during auspicious day of Shivarathri.

How to reach?

This place is on the way to Yellapur from Sirsi. It is about 17kms from Sirsi. While coming from Sirsi, after the place called Bhairumbe you will have to get down at a bus-stop called Hulgol bus-stop and walk towards Hulgol. From the main road it is around 2kms distance. Best time to visit is winter to early summer.
