Ingredients

 

  • 3 tsp Bengal gram
  • 1/2 Kumbalakaai
  • 1/2 Coconut grated
  • Green chillies 6-7
  • Small bunch of corriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1/2 Inch ginger
  • 1tsp Musterd seeds
  • Asaefotida
  • Majjige (Butter Milk)
  • Curry leaves
  • Red chillies

Method

Soak bengal gram (kadalebele) for an hour or 2.
Grind it with green chillies, corriander leaves, jeera, mustard seeds, ginger, aseafotida and coconut.
Remove the skin and cut the vegetable into pieces.
Add salt and Cook them till they are tender.
Add the ground mixture and majjige(butter milk)to it and boil for 5 minutes.
Add water if required.

Oggarane (Seasoning)

Take oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, Jeera seeds, Red chillies and Curry leaves.

  • Kumbalakaai can be replaced with spinach, eggplant beans , seeme soutekaai, cucumber etc
